Canton Company looking for a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician with overall responsibility for maintaining proper machine and auxiliary equipment operation and supporting production as necessary.
Salary: $17-$21/hour based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve in a multi-faceted role of performing preventive maintenance, fixing, lubricating, cleaning, and diagnosing injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment to keep it producing flawlessly
- Ensure machine produces parts at high levels of quality and efficiency
- Keep machine at optimal operation capacity by communicating any issues to team leader/supervisor, ensuring product quality, and recording interventions
- Ensure product quality requirements are met through process adjustments on plastic injection molding machinery to assure function and cosmetic attributes expected by customers
- Record appropriate intervention reports
- Perform tooling, production changes and tooling maintenance
- Understand, maintain or repair water system, plastic resin conveying system, hydraulic system, electric and electronic basics, grease and oil definitions and compressed air systems
- Keep the working environment area clean and safe
- Be available for overtime and weekend work if needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct supervisory responsibilities
- Must be able to work in a self-directed team environment
Education/Experience:
- College degree or equivalent are an asset
- Prior maintenance experience in machining, plastic processing or millwright is require
Communication Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and follow directions.
- Must be able to speak, listen, openly communicate with team members and actively participate in team meetings
- Must be able to read technical drawings and diagrams
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply formulas and mathematical concepts and use them as appropriate for mechanical and production quality job responsibilities
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define and react to problems, color variations, and small imperfections
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make data-based decisions at fairly fast-paced production levels
- Ability to adjust the machine or auxiliary equipment accordingly in order to meet customer specifications
Requirements:
- Lift up to 30 lbs. on a frequent basis
- Push or pull with up to 60 lbs. of force on an occasional basis
- Stoop, kneel, climb, squat or crawl on a frequent basis in areas with limited space
- Use hands to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel on a frequent basis
- Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis
- Possess manual dexterity and be in good physical condition
- The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection as required by OSHA noise level standards
- Steel-toed shoes or boots are required for this position due to potential safety hazards
- Hairnet and uniform are provided
